February 2 - March 3

It is time for the SEVENTH annual Read A Thon/Marathon de la LECTURE! Our goal: 700,000 minutes of reading! Read in French, read in English, read to a pet, read the pictures, it all counts towards our minutes of reading. Minutes of reading mean minutes of learning. Our goal for the Normandale Read-a-Thon is to encourage and celebrate students' reading. Their habits of reading will develop lifelong learners, whether they read with imagination or read for information. Thank you for your support!

NEW THIS YEAR, we are tracking minutes of French reading AND minutes of English reading!

Now- March 15

There are three ways to get involved:

  1. Register your child to receive a free tree to plant at home

  2. Purchase trees to plant this spring if you don’t have a child participating (Buy One, Fund One!)

  3. Donate to fund trees in our community — $5 helps place a tree in the hands of a child

Welcome!

Welcome to the online presence of Normandale Elementary French Immersion. We hope this website will help you discover more about our school and how you can volunteer your time and talent to help us build an outstanding learning community.

At Normandale, all families are members of the PTO and are a vital part of the school community. We are honored to support the dedicated teachers, interns and staff at Normandale whose commitment to innovation and excellence helps its educational programs to thrive.

The PTO plays an active role in the educational enrichment of the students at Normandale by providing funding in many areas, including main support of our intern program. In addition, the PTO organizes events such as our annual fall gala “La Belle Soiree”, Intern Rally Month, Read-A-Thon, Scholastic Book Fair, Science Fair, our spring carnival “La Kermesse” and much more.

When your child begins at Normandale French Immersion, you become part of our “French village”. We look forward to working with you as we support a school community that educates, loves and respects our children.

NORMANDALE CIRCLE DROP-OFF & PICK-UP

Here are a few important notes about morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up from the circle at door 10 (the Normandale main door.)

  • The Normandale Circle is for quick drop-offs and pick-ups only. If your student(s) need assistance getting in or out of your vehicle, please park in the lot and walk them up to the sidewalk.

  • Please do not exit your vehicle during drop-off and pick-up.

  • Please pull as far forward in the circle as you can before dropping off or picking up your student(s).

  • To enter the circle, use the OUTSIDE lanes of the parking lot. You may not enter the circle from the middle lane of the parking lot.

  • Please exit the circle as quickly and safely as possible. If you need to check your phone or take care of other tasks, move to the parking lot so you are not blocking the flow of traffic behind you.

For more information, check out the Normandale Traffic Plan. Thank you for helping to keep traffic moving!
