The Fete des Cultures, Celebration of Cultures, is a unique, fun, free school event that celebrates the countries and cultures from around the world represented by our Normandale families. 

Please join us to learn amazing facts from the posters our students prepare and watch captivating performances from around the world.  You can also enjoy sampling food from countries represented by our Normandale families that will tickle your taste buds.  It’s a night you do not want to miss!

How do students participate:

Students can create a presentation (poster board similar to the Imagination Fair) featuring a country they've visited, are interested in or a country their ancestors are from. Be Creative! Have fun!  Make it colorful and interesting!

How parents and families can volunteer/participate:

All parents are invited to attend our fall PTO General Meeting.

Guest speakers BethanyVanOsdel and Sandy Harley will discuss how LETRS and ASPIRE literacy programming benefits ALL students and why we all should be excited about this incredible training available for our teachers here in Edina. A Spanish interpreter will be providing services during the meeting.

Childcare will be provided in the small gym during the meeting by Extended French high school students - who will be earning their volunteer hours!

In preparation for school photos: please choose an outfit that the child is comfortable in and avoid bright patterns and logos. This year we will have small mirrors as well as throw away combs for the students.

On August 28th and 29th Normandale Elementary will be hosting Connect and Assess Days with all Normandale students and families. Please mark your calendars to be in town on these important days. Students will be invited by their teacher to participate in the planed assessments of learning and important connection and relationship building activities. More information to come.

Open House is a less structured opportunity to tour the building, meet teachers, sign-up for extra-curricular activities and enjoy a cool treat.
