THE NORMANDALE Imagination Fair is an opportunity for Normandale students to showcase their experiments, inventions, or creations.

Online project registration:
Now through Friday, March 29th.

Volunteers are needed for setup, during the event, and cleanup!

All Normandale students, from kindergarten – 5th grade are invited to participate. Students may work alone, with another student, or in a group. You must pre-register to share a project during the Imagination Fair.

Don’t know where to start? Projects don’t have to be complicated! Let your imagination, creativity, and inventiveness guide you. Explore whatever interests you at the moment…nature, mechanics, art, technology, fashion, chemistry, photography, animals, weather, crafts, or any other hobbies.

Projects for K-2 will be placed in the auditorium and projects for grades 3-5 in the small gym. There will be no snacks or drinks at the event; please do not bring candy or snacks to share!

Helpful guidelines for the fair:

  • Projects will be displayed on tabletops, please limit size to 36 inches wide and 30 inches deep

  • Projects must be free-standing. A tri-fold display board is highly recommended for easy set-up.

  • If your registered project requires electricity, you will be assigned to a designated table near an electrical outlet. Please bring your own electrical extension cord.

  • If projects have potential liquid spillage, please bring a plastic liner for the table and paper towels for clean-up.

  • Wear safety goggles when activity could lead to eye injury

  • Other potential hazards (e.g. safe chemicals or sharp tools) must be supervised by adults

  • Students are responsible for setting up and removing their own display boards and accessories, as well as cleaning up any trash or recycling.

Projects may NOT include any of the following:

  • Live small animals or pets

  • Microbial cultures or fungi, live or dead

  • Open or concealed flames, matches, or lighters

  • Human/animal parts or body fluids (blood, urine)

  • Hazardous chemicals or highly combustible solids, liquids, or gases.
